Entre traditions provençales et regards tournés vers l’avenir, cette fête met en lumière trois cultures emblématiques du plateau, véritables symboles de convivialité et de savoir-faire.
The 4th Pistachio, Almond, and Olive Day in Valensole
On Sunday, September 28, 2025, the village of Valensole will be celebrating Provençal flavors with the 4th edition of Pistachio, Almond, and Olive Day. Organized by the Association Mémoire Vivante de Valensole et de son Plateau, this festive and gourmet event highlights three crops that are emblematic of the region. Combining tradition, local produce, and conviviality, this day celebrates the agricultural wealth of Provence and the expertise of its producers.
A rich and convivial program
Throughout the day, visitors and curious onlookers will be able to enjoy a truly sensory and educational experience. The program includes a farmers’ market, workshops, cooking demonstrations, tastings, and direct sales of regional products. The festival will also feature a conference, a film screening, and traditional recipes to rediscover, from aioli to tapenade, pistou, calissons, and nougat.
This 4th edition will place a special focus on almonds, with a tour of a modern almond cracker and a traditional 19th-century almond cracker, a cooking workshop led by Chef Frédéric Payan, and a conference bringing together personalities committed to this emblematic fruit of the Valensole plateau.
A celebration focused on the future
Beyond traditions, this event also reflects a forward-looking approach. Almonds, olives, and pistachios are now regaining their central place in the local agricultural landscape thanks to ambitious collective projects and the passion of producers.
