Paschetta-Henry mild

In 2022, the Paschetta-Henry mill celebrated its 100th anniversary! 100 years of history and family transmission. Since the beginning of the 20th century, the mill has been extracting extra virgin olive oil in the heart of the village of Oraison in Haute-Provence.

More than 100 years of know-how!

Lucie Henry, who perpetuated the activity of the mill after her father Joseph transmitted to her all the techniques inherent in the profession of miller, was very quickly fascinated by all that the olive can bring small pleasures. His son Michel will in turn develop this unconditional love for this fruit and its many properties.

Traditional recipe for soap cooked in a cauldron according to the Marseillaise method

We often hear about Savon de Marseille, the Marseille method, soap cooked in a cauldron….

But what does it consist of and what is this method?

Here are a few lines to introduce you to this traditional method of soap making operated by the Paschetta-Henry family.

Because the soap cooked in a cauldron, according to the Marseillaise method, is above all a real know-how with a process that follows a series of immutable operations.

Manufacturing is broken down into 7 phases detailed as follows:

1. MASHING
Which consists of preparing an emulsion with oil (we use olive oil and coconut oil) and several detergents until the preparation is completely solidified.

2. RELEASE
Salt water is added to separate the soap formed from the glycerin and water

3. SPINNING
From the name of the drain tap: the thorn. We draw this decanted mixture from the good soap that remains in the cauldron

4. COOKING
Also called a coction, a strong caustic lye is poured over the soapy mass. For several hours the mixture is boiled.

5. WASHES
In salt water, always hot, to rid the soap of impurities and excess alkalinity.

6. LIQUIDATION
The most delicate step which consists in adding water to obtain a liquid mixture guaranteeing good decantation for a few hours.

7. CASTING
In molds or puts, and after cooling, the bars of soaps are cut.

Extreme cream treatment

Another mill-specific production is our extreme cream treatment. But here the process is confidential: a real secret that is kept from generation to generation…

It is a real concentrate of well-being: composed of 15% olive oil, sage extract, calendula, witch hazel and 0.5% vitamin E. This cream has an antioxidant power which traps free radicals caused by UV rays, stress, pollution or food and preserves the youthfulness and radiance of the skin day after day.

Perfect for daily use, it will leave your skin soft, nourished, hydrated.
